Coming to the Nathan dojo?: This is our headquarters and we strongly encourage you to enroll in our beginners course or a Saturday session for a casual look.

Coming to the Everton Hills dojo: We now have classes three times a week, new members are encouraged to attend the new member introduction on the first Monday of the month.

Your first class... requires some comfortable clothing and your ready to go, a senior student (usually a black belt) will take you through a special one-on-one introduction designed to give you an overview of what aikido is about. You'll get to try out aikido and ask any questions you might have. If you like it and like what we do then your on your way and can come back for any of our regular (and begineer) classes.

Monthly beginners course This is a great way to get started together with a group of other new students and get a thorough introduction. You'll be introduced to all aspects of aikido, graduallly joining the rest of the class for training. Register/Pay online here for Nathan course. Due to strong demand preregistration is important to secure your place.

aikido warmups

Monthly intensive On the last Saturday of the month special training is held for all members and seniors. Gradings for Aikikids, Kyu and Dan gradings are also held quarterly during this time.

Regular Practice We currently practice aikido at a number of locations around Brisbane. You are invited to come along to watch a class or train with us at any time at any of our dojos. For more information or if you have some questions please contact that dojo directly or for general enquiries contact us

Unless otherwise stated all dojos are closed on public holidays. Our summer break is from one week before Christmas to one week after new year inclusive.

Seminars You will notice within the club that there is something different to learn from every instructor, and having a different perspective from different instructors can be very inspiring as you explore what aikido has to offer you as an individual. Seminars are an opportunity to have this process happen at an even higher level.

We have had the extreme good fortune to have our Founder, Maruyama Sensei, presenting seminars annually since 2002. Maruyama Sensei was Uchideshi (rough translation, apprentice) to O’Sensei, the Founder of Aikido. Through him we get teachings and insights direct from the very source of Aikido. The International Chief Instructor of Aikido Yuishinkai, Michael Williams, also gives seminars at least once a year.

Because these seminars are so important to our instructors and students, as well as the Club’s aikido generally, the Club may close for at least a day when Maruyama Sensei or Williams Sensei are visiting Brisbane or Byron Bay, to allow all our instructors as well as our students to attend.
